UC Berkeley Police Discover Mummy Near Campus

UC Berkeley Police were investigating a suicide when they discovered an even more gruesome sight: an entombed body, the Daily Californian reports.

The Police were investigating the suicide of 60-year-old Hassan Bin Ali. Bin Ali shot himself on Monday when police responded to a verbal argument on the 2200 block of Ashby Avenue in his apartment. The Berkeley Police are unwilling to discuss what the argument was about.

After the warrant was issued, the police made the discovery during the investigation of the well-hidden and entombed body:

Police say information they learned during the investigation led them to obtain a search warrant for the address where the suicide occurred. During that search, shortly after 6 p.m. Wednesday evening, "detectives discovered human remains entombed on the first floor of the building," according to the release.

The police are investigating the matter as a "suspicious death case" . They also said that the only thing they could confirm was that the body was well hidden in the apartment building, and that they could not confirm how long it had been there.

Either way, the discovery is definitely completely and totally creepy. I hope that, in the wake of already tragic circumstance, another one can be solved.
