Recession Tip: UF and New College of Florida Are Cheap

Oh la la! Do I hear the pitter patter of nickels clinking down the hallways of New College of Florida and UF? That must be so, considering that Kiplinger’s has named but both UF and New College of Florida to their Top 10 public institutions that provide the best value in higher education.

The St. Petersburg Times reports:

The University of Florida and New College of Florida are among the Top 10 public institutions that provide the best value in higher education, according to a report released Friday by Kiplinger's Personal Finance. Kiplinger's ranked UF No. 2 among the 100 Best Values in public colleges for the fourth year in a row. It ranked New College of Florida as No. 8. State University System Chancellor Mark B. Rosenberg said in a news release that the university system is proud of its ability to produce high-quality education and world-class research while charging the lowest tuition and fees in the nation. Three other Florida universities made Kiplinger's 100 Best. Florida State University came in at No. 17, the University of Central Florida was ranked No. 42, and the University of South Florida was ranked No. 75.

We’ve always known that Florida is cheap. You could practically feed a family of six on seventy-five cents worth of food from Winn Dixie. That Florida can also provide a great value on education is even better.
