UMN Obliterates The World Record For Most Flu Shots In One Day

The University of Minnesota can now be heralded by the Guinness Book of World Records, as it shattered the former record for most flu shots administered in one day yesterday. The record number of 3,271 shots, set in 2006 in Sanford, Florida, was surpassed by noon, and reached over three times that at the end of the day. With 11,538 flu shots being the final count, the U now stands among the ranks of THE WORLD'S FINEST.

Overall, the event was a success. By trying the bold task of getting a world record, Boynton Health Services raised awareness of immunization and got a lot of students to receive a flu shot. (If you didn't get yours, there's plenty of walk-in clinics available through November). Though the promo for the event was just a bit frightening (get away from me with that thing, you sick giant rodent freak!), the turnout was unprecedented and impressive.

Yeah, that's right. You know we run this influenza inoculation game. Can't nobody tell us nothin' about vaccination, what. That's five-digit status, homie. Step to this if you think you got what it takes to hang with the big time flu shot providers. We don't play. Boynton represent.
