University of Miami Becomes A Hot Spot For Barack Obama Lovin' Celebs

Matt Damon has made his political preferences pretty clear this election. And now he’s bringing those anti-McCain, down-with-Palin feelings to the University of Miami today.

The actor will speak at an early voting rally on campus in order to show his support for Barack Obama. He also kept the Democratic love alive yesterday at VoteFest ’08, an all-day music festival funded by the good people at the Miami-Dade Democratic Party. The event promoted early voting as well, and Damon was joined by actresses Kerry Washington and Alicia Silverstone.

Silverstone has also been on a Florida tour to stump for her man, Obama. Earlier in the week she spoke in Tallahassee and Gainesville. What did Silverstone’s ringing endorsement sound like? The Independent Florida Alligator quotes her as saying, “He reminds me of a really amazing father. Who wouldn’t want to call him their dad?” I’m not sure that’s exactly what I’m looking for in a president, but I guess the gesture is there.

Besides, if Cher’s on board, I’m, like, totally there too!
