Last year there was a nine car pileup in Urbana, Ohio, that killed three Masters students from China. Now the school has instituted a policy that forces all international students to buy insurance so that, in the case of their death, there is money to send their remains back to their home country.
Confound it!
Would you pay into that? I wouldn’t.
The only insurance worth buying is health insurance (which I still do not have— I’ll never pay off that back surgery), and life insurance is the biggest scam of them all. Maybe it’s just because I’m a raging atheist, and so, care very little to what happens to my remains, but for all I care, once I become a corpse, a party of drunken frat boys can run a train on me, then throw me into the woods to be eaten by wolves.
No, if I were coming to America to attend school, I would not choose Urbana University, solely on this fact of forced insurance. I have a hard enough time affording to eat, no need for unnecessary expenditure.
