Virginia Tech College Republicans Rejoice That Not EVERYONE Loves Obama

College Republicans in Virginia couldn’t be happier. Students at Virginia Tech are actually interested in the election and not just in support of Barack Obama. Shocking.

In fact, Virginia could cross party lines in favor of the Republicans for the first time since 1964. That’s how close the polls are in Virginia. And the youth vote will most certainly have an impact.

Carlin Crowder, the Virginia Tech College Republicans Chair, says that this year he’s noticed more involvement in the College Republicans than ever before. He claims that in particular more women are joining, and he attributes this to Palin on the ticket. Please, please tell me Virginia women are not stupid enough to think any old woman (or hot young babe in this case) is good enough to lead our country or that Crowder actually believes this.

Carlin talks to The Collegiate Times about the differences in this election:

Crowder characterized the new interest among students as not automatically benefitting the traditional Democratic voting block associated with high youth vote turnout.

"We're seeing a real turnaround; we're not seeing mind-numb college students that are just going to vote one way because that's how they've been influenced by their peers," Crowder said.

Crowder said he felt confident the College Republicans could turn this opportunity into a Republican victory this November.

Interesting that Crowder doesn't believe students should be influenced by their peers... while he himself tries to influence his peers. And while we're on the topic, "mind-numb"? Sounds like a Palin-ism in the making.

Palin was a calculated and strategic move by McCain to get the woman's vote and you couldn't convince any rational person otherwise... Posted 10/10/2008 6:11 PMReply

This is a crucial election. It is crucial for Virginians and our children. This should interest you whether you are democrat or republican. Obama is withholding several documents from court which pertain to his proof as a natural born citizen

Several things:

1. Please watch this and pass it on to anyone you know. Post it everywhere. This video is being viewed like crazy on You tube. The case is true and the DNC filed a motion on Thursday October 9th to keep them from producing Obama's hard copy birth certificate. The DNC is not producing the documents.

2. Please tell anyone you know with daughters that Obama supports making women register for selective service

Candidates differ on female draft

By Jerome L. Sherman, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

Even as the U.S. confronts two long wars, neither Sen. John McCain nor Sen. Barack Obama believes the country should take the politically perilous step of reviving the military draft.

But the two presidential candidates disagree on a key foundation of any future draft: Mr. Obama supports a requirement for both men and women to register with the Selective Service, while Mr. McCain doesn't think women should have to register.

3. Obama says that he does not know Farrakhan, nor has he worked with ACORN. If You go to Chicagaons Against Obama.
You will find the pictures I have attached.

Any president worth his salt would, were he to re-instate the draft, require women to register as well. In the post-feminist movement modern world, any candidate who wouldn't would look like a total chauvanist. Posted 10/24/2008 6:17 PMReply

Uhh, Virginia has voted Republican in every presidential election since 1964. It could switch to the Democrats this time. Good job on the research. Posted 10/29/2008 01:28 AMReply
