Rutgers is Going Solar

College is one of the biggest grounds for waste, but on September 23, New Jersey Board of Public Utilities will break ground on the largest solar energy project in New Jersey on our very own Livingston Campus. This brand new, seven acre facility for renewable solar energy will generate 10% of energy on Livingston Campus, and reduce carbon monoxide emissions of the university by 1,200 tons.

As the place where young minds are shaped for adulthood, the University’s support and investment in environmentally friendly energy sources will promote a positive image for conservation, and make greener living more of a norm than an extra effort for everyone.

The ground breaking ceremony will be held at 6 Berrue Circle on Livingston Campus, Piscataway where the site is located.
