Whoever the person is who decided to put pretzels and chocolate together to make chocolate-covered pretzels is a genius. Likewise, the NYC-based producer Minty Fresh Beats is a genius for his Jay-Z/Radiohead mashup, aptly titled Jaydiohead.

A few years ago when The Grey Album came out, everyone and their mother was running around name-dropping Danger Mouse and feeling like tastemakers.

And no doubt, it’s a great album, but when Minty Fresh Beats collides “Dirt Off Your Shoulder” with “Paranoid Android,” it’s as though the two songs were fraternal twins separated at birth, Thom Yorke's atmospheric rock and Sean Carter rhymes oddly complemetary. Meanwhile, “Lucifer’s Jigsaw” actually surpasses the original Black Album track for all thirty-seconds of it, but ultimately leaves one feeling a little blue-balled in its brevity. Still, Jaydiohead upstages other Jay-Z mashups, however, by incorporating some of jigga's less well-known tracks from his recent concept album, American Gangster.

And yeah, I'll come out and make the big, fat, grandiose statement that I've been dancing around: Jaydiohead is the best Jay-Z mashup yet.
