It’s official; Barack Obama’s popularity extends beyond planet Earth.

According to the tin-foil brigade, an interplanetary spacecraft filled with Obama-lovin’ aliens zoomed past the Inauguration proceedings on Tuesday, and CNN’s cameras accidentally caught it on film.

The unedited footage from CNN’s homepage does show a plane of some sort zipping past the Washington Monument at an unprecedented speed. Do not blink or you will miss it.

Is it a bird, a jet or UFO? Let’s weigh the options.

1. A bird – Unless there is a bird capable of breaking the sound barrier, it’s almost certainly not a bird—at least, not one from Earth. Maybe it’s an alien bird! Yeah… that’s it.

2. A jet – For this one, I turned to YouTube to analyze footage of F22s and other fighter jets. None seemed capable of the unidentified object’s speed. However, it’s very likely that a CIA spy plane designed to move quickly over a region could. So, this one seems highly probable, especially when you consider the amount of security present at the Inauguration. It makes sense for the military to be patrolling the skies.

3. A UFO – Everyone loves Obama, so it wouldn’t surprise me if residents from Mars wanted to witness history in the making. Barring that, however, what are the odds of a genuine UFO flying over the Inauguration? Slim to none. Unless they somehow detected a gathering of two million people and wanted to investigate, I don’t see why they would be drawn to it…

Final verdict: It’s a super secret CIA jet, but if it were aliens, I only hope that they bring some of their beer to Earth when they return to enslave us.
