Election Day is finally here, but the College Democrats at Yale aren’t resting on their laurels just yet.

Over the weekend, sixty members of Yale for Obama journeyed out to Pennsylvania, one of the important swing states in this election, to continue their campaign efforts. Focusing predominantly in West Philadelphia, Sam Brill ’10 applauded the efforts of his colleagues, noting, “The campaign has really made itself part of the community and … has inspired so many depressed people to mobilize around a common cause.”

On Monday, they brought the "good fight" home by participating in one of the largest phone-banking events ever organized at Yale.

The Yale Daily News reports:

Volunteers called swing states on behalf of Sen. Obama and canvassed for Democratic Congressional challenger Jim Himes. “This is obviously going to be a historic election,” Alexsis Johnson ’12 said. “[Phone-banking] was just another way to be a part of history.”

And so, New Haven has officially done its part to help Obama.
