It often seems that newspapers and "traditional journalists" think of bloggers are thought of as the redheaded stepchildren of the journalism world. Granted, The Collegian has its own blogs, but certainly they disregard us on a regular basis (we just want to be friends). But it seems that we bloggers are finally getting noticed, or at least getting our stories stolen.
Yesterday showed the power of blogs, with Safeguard Old State having two separate stories on the front page of The Collegian. In a non-Penn State related story, The Philadelphia Inquirer has a story today on the700level.com, a blog covering Philadelphia sports.
And in today's Collegian, they have a story about the $15 fee that the Bank of America Career Services Center charges to schedule on campus interviews. What does that have to do with blogging? WE WROTE ABOUT IT LAST WEEK!
Now, we can't take credit for every story in The Collegian, but give us one for ****'s sake. Ok, so you say maybe no one reads this blog and they just found out that story on their own. Well, our post on the Career Services happens to be the second most read post on CollegeOTR in the past seven days (damn you Terrelle Pryor!)
So, give us some love Collegian. We obviously have low self esteem.
