*  This is the weekend of the comedic films. On Friday, we have two huge openings for The Love Guru, with Mike Meyers, Jessica Alba, and Justin Timberlake, and Get Smart, starring Steve Carell, Anne Hathaway, and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.  Let’s see who wins this box office brawl!

*  If you’re strolling around “Celtic Champ Town” (otherwise known as Boston) this Sunday, you can hit up the Chinatown Main Street Festival. The colorful event includes dancers, martial arts demonstrations, and a lion dance. Top off your trip with the amazing, and cheap, food they’ll have all over the festival.

*  Spending Friday on the East Coast? Hop on the roof, at Rooftop Films: Shorts About Love. In a quaint rooftop setting you can meet new people and view some amazing short films.  There will be alcohol served, so don’t get so trashed that you miss the films.

*  Death Cab for Cutie has touched everyone in some way, shape or form. Seeing them at the SDSU Open Air Theatre will be a great opportunity to see them jam out with Rogue Wave this Friday. The show isn’t sold out yet, so get cracking with Ticketmaster.

*  Calling All Hipster Music Fans!  She Wants Revenge, The Virgins, Be Your Own Pet, and the Switches are playing the Nylon Magazine Music Tour in Los Angeles this Saturday. The show will be at The Wiltern. Get set to be hot and sweaty – make sure not shower. That’s how I like my hipsters, sweaty, musky, and prancing about in violet American Apparel spandex.

*  Tales of over zealous sperm donors, neo beatniks, siblings getting wasted, Anna Nicole Smith, and the current election all come to life on Friday in NYC.  Recent NYU graduate Anne Fidler will show her talents at the Stick bar play series at the Bowery Poetry Club.

Know about a kick-a$s event we’ve should mention? You and pals headed off to something ridiculous in the coming weeks? Let us know and we’ll feature it on next week’s Off-Campus Crusades.
