99 Red Balloons (Part 2 of 2)
A clarifying sign? Unfortunately not. Because actually, 1,000 balloons = a huge waste of money.  And I still have no idea what they symbolize.

Update! Thanks to bwog.net, I now know that the balloons symbolize rockets dropped on a town in Israel. Perhaps the group in charge, LionPac, made their campaign so oblique to avoid answering questions about how many died (in the double-digits, nowhere near the number of red balloons) and why balloons were a good way to commemorate the victim's lives (couldn't they have sent the hundreds of dollars spent on balloons to a charity or the families?).
