Friday I received a message from one of the Phroth writers who told me of the new "Phroth Philm" they had up on YouTube. This is now the third (and last until Fall) video from the Phroth gang and I'd like to say they're improving with each video. But ...
Look I'm a rough critic, I hate almost everything (although Italian Spiderman is teh awesomes!). But unfortunately for Phroth Philms they really did a great job on their first video ("your cock smells like my 12-year old cousin" Brilliant!), and I guess I'm comparing things to that. In their latest philm, Phroth makes a commercial for Hasbro's new board game, Number Scrabble, which sounds like an interesting concept. EDIT: I actually googled "number scrabble" and guess what? It exists.
But here's the problem: it's not. The idea is you're using numbers rather than letters in the game, and the big joke is that someone challenges that 657362 isn't a number. But after referencing the number dictionary it's discovered that, "Why it is a number!" Amusing? Sure. Hilarious? No.
While I'm ripping this thing can I also just mention that Matt Woodward (playing the part of "dad" I guess) might be the worst actor EVER! Oh, and another point of contention - you can't put tiles down diagonally in Scrabble. Get it right Phrothies!
But there is something absolutely hilarious about the video (besides Woodward's inability to emote). If you check it out on YouTube, look at the tags (which are visible after clicking "more info") where you'll see things like "scrabble," phroth," and "board game." Ok, those are good, people searching for those will find this video. But look at the last two - "bow wow" and "mariah carey." Now that's funny.
