So, I’m sure that many of you have gotten the email from Sodexo urging us to take “a customer satisfaction survey.” As an avid customer of the College-in-The-Woods dining hall, I have some thoughts of my own that I would like to open for discussion. First of all, in the whole scheme of the Sodexo, the numbers prove that their employees are better off being on welfare. They barely make minimum wage.

But I’d like to stray away from Sodexo as a corporation, and focus more on our homey little dining hall. Stacy, the most beloved of the dining hall employees, and essentially the only one who knows what she’s doing, has been struggling with management. Apparently, she was told that she needs to get on the register, stop being so friendly with everyone, and do her job.

I mentioned the Tina scandal in a different post—the mentally handicapped employee of Sodexo who was basically sexually harassed by students and then fired for “inappropriate behavior.”

Now, let us not forget about Sue. Here in my suite, each time we return from the dining hall, it seems that someone has a new story on how they were blatantly overcharged by Sue. One morning, she charged me for the cookie she was eating. Just the other day, Sue attempted to charge my friend for her gum.

Tonight, I had to sort through 20 salad bowls, easily, to find one that wasn’t tarnished with pieces of food.
