Meet Robby the Wonder Bot, a candy-vending machine that sits comfortably in the lower levels of Columbia’s legendary Hamilton Hall.

Apparently, poor Robby is riddled with bugs and technical malfunctions that cause the candy to get stuck and – on occasion – the coils to come loose and fall off.

As a result of these quirks, a group of Columbia students became obsessed with the vending machine several months ago and created a blog dedicated to chronicling – through pictures and videos – Robby’s life and misadventures.

In the video above, the students attempt to score what appears to be a package of Reese Pieces but come away with a shiny machine coil instead.

“You win this round, Robby,” they declare, as if the inanimate Robby can understand them.

Clearly, the rigors of Columbia’s core curriculum have driven these undergrads completely insane.
