The Wisconsin GOP might want to think about changing their symbol from the elephant to the boa constrictor after continuing the yearly tradition of squeezing a few more of those undoubtedly unnecessary dollars out of the state education budget.

This year, the herpetological wonder is threatening to suck $100 million from the UW System. Sources close to the issue have said the money will most likely either fund a 48x20 mile terrarium slated to be placed on top of Spooner or to hire Jake "the Snake" Roberts as spokesman for the Republican Party of Wisconsin.

Fortunately for UW students, tuition hikes have been capped at 4%, but I have a sinking feeling that that provision is too sensical and well thought out to hold steady.
