Fred Durst, yes backwards-cap-i-make-cameraphone-porn Fred Durst, has directed a film titled The Education of Charlie Banks. According to IMDB, “The Education of Charlie Banks is a coming of age tale that spans from the playgrounds of lower Manhattan to the idyllic greens of a fictional liberal arts college in upstate New York (originally conceived as Vassar College but renamed to avoid referential controversy). Set during the eighties, it is a story about change, inevitability, and ultimately, about facing one's fears”.

I for one am a little disappointed that Vassar wouldn’t want some free publicity or a lot more application essays about Wes Borland’s influence in Nu Metal.

Oh, and Variety liked Durst’s direction? I can’t wait for other rockers to follow in his footsteps, specifically Brandon Flowers. His take on French New Wave should be fascinating!
