A protest of Cornell is scheduled for August 2 from 8:30 to 9:30am by the Westboro Baptist Church.  According to their website,  at www.godhates****s.com, "[t]his is a seat of higher learning in America, an Ivy League no less, which is filled with perverts running things, and they are trying to make ****s and ****s out of all of their students."

In case you haven't heard of them, this is the same group that protests at the funerals of soldiers killed in Iraq, as well threatened to protest at the VA Tech funerals (although they were convinced not to in exchange for airtime on a radio station).

If you thought that was sick, look at the schedule for August 1st- they're protesting at the funeral for 5 students who died in a car accident.  Because their high school has a GLBT group.  Of course, it's so obvious! God killed them because of that! LOLZ why am I such an idiot! ****ers.

UPDATE: The site of the protest has been changed from the ag quad to off-campus.  The counter-protest is scheduled for the same time, in Ho Plaza.
