If you were going to get away with anything like this, you certainly are not since Virginia Tech. According to NY State law, in fact, even air powered guns- like Nerf- are illegal on campus. If you weren't aware, Cornell also had a stabbing on campus last year, so even blades are viewed with nervousness.

As for weaponless violence, it's rare that the CUPD will get involved- but they will be called if it's within earshot of an RA.  This is especially true if it involves any verbal altercation which addresses race, religion, or sexual identity.  Cornell has a thing about hate crimes.  

If it's anything more serious than a few minor cuts and bruises, Cornell may call in the Ithaca police. At that point, you're ****ed. Real cops can do more than give you community service, you know. Smoke some weed to calm the **** down. Much less risky.

Oh yes.  And whatever you do, do not torture dogs.  This guy got more national attention and the same bail ($20,000) as the guy who stabbed the black kid in the lungs did.  (And yes it is ****ed up that  injuring a dog gets you the same bail as SENDING A KID TO THE HOSPITAL WITH A COLLAPSED LUNG.  People must think that black people are worth as much as dogs these days.  Funny, in 1800 a black person would sell for a lot more than a dog.  I guess they've depreciated)
