It's Not Like Your Crappy Fake Would've Worked Anyway...
The debate on Northwestern adopting the UPass system--one in which students pay $50 per quarter for unlimited rides on the El--seems to be a moot point now. Not just because NU administrators would sooner die than do anything that would make their students' lives more convenient, but because the CTA is instating massive fare hikes. The geniuses running the CTA are charging $3 at rush hour to take the El, while simultaneously cutting Purple Line express service, making it harder for seniors to get into the city and drink, and nearly impossible for freshmen to walk around Belmont armed with pepper spray and thinking about how unbelievably hip and trendy they are. Boo!
