The newest addition to Cornell faculty is Ra'id Juhi Hamadi Al-Saiedi, who has been the subject of assasination attempts as his role as a judge in the Saddam Hussein trials.

According to Ithaca police,  “Cornell University Administration representatives confirm that they have not received adequate intelligence information or an official written threat assessment concerning the safety of the Judge, his family and the Ithaca/Cornell community.”
