You Should Know This: Fight Song
Wes Rugby's official pre-game boot check is a perfect time to start singing the fight song.

Fall season is upon us, so it's time to get back to singing our dear Fight Song. You should sing it at any point during a sports game, but also belting it out at any time is always a good idea. Especially in class. If you are a freshman or just oblivious, you may not know the "Battle Cry" words (written by Clifford L. Waite, class of 1906). Here they are:

And then it's fight for old Wesleyan,
never give in.
Fight to the end
when might and right shall win.
So keep on fighting 'til victory
crowns everyone;
And then it's fight, fight, fight, fight
for Wesleyan!
Go Wes!

This is the gender neutral version (whew). In the version that’s in the songbook, the different lines are “fight to the end, BOY,” and “so keep on fighting til victory crowns every MAN.” I guess they had to change that once WesRugby moved up to D2 and Old Meth stayed down at D3.
