Just a day after Texas A&M Young Conservatives were criticized for their anti-Obama carnival, they were back at it again. This time, though, they had made a few changes.

On Friday, instead of throwing eggs (which were to represent “nest eggs”) at a big picture of Obama’s face, the Republican group encouraged people to throw eggs at a poster of Obama’s policies with photos of Obama and other prominent Democrats underneath it. Huge difference.

Somehow this minor alteration wasn’t enough to change people’s opinion of the carnival… imagine that. Protestors came out to voice their opposition to the display:

A few students stepped up to throw an egg. Most, however, watched or yelled in protest of the event.

One student grabbed an egg from Listi and threw it down on a table, to the applause of those watching.

Junior biomedical science major Noelle San Miguel said she was unhappy with the event's message and complained that despite posting Obama's policies, the event was still disrespectful.

"I don't think their so-called 're-tooling' is much better," she said. "They're still throwing eggs at something, you can still see Barack Obama's face, so I think it's still pretty disrespectful."

Some anti-anti-Obama carnivalers complained that the group simply shot down Obama’s policies without giving any information about McCain. Others protested more symbolically. The Texas Aggie Democrats, for example, showed up with a griddle to fry eggs instead of throw them.

Nothing symbolizes political discord quite like symbolic breakfast food.
