Dartmouth Challenges Penn to Presidential Election Vote-Off

Dartmouth Challenges Penn to Presidential Election Vote-Off

Dear Dartmouth students,

On November 4th, don’t vote because it’s the right thing to do. No – vote because your school’s pride is on the line.

Last week, our faithful leader Molly Bode, the Student Assembly president, issued a challenge to Wilson Tong, the University of Pennsylvania Undergraduate Assembly chairman, and his cronies to put their votes where their big-mouthed ballots are and try to get a higher voter turnout rate on campus than Dartmouth. To which Penn responded with a metaphorical “It’s on now” and issued an e-mail alert to all students about the friendly competition.

The Daily Pennsylvania reports:

"I think a lot of people will already vote but the purpose of this is to add more excitement," said Tong.

In any case, the biggest incentive of all may be school pride.

"If we lose, I will wear Penn gear for a week and if Penn loses, Wilson has agreed to wear Dartmouth gear for a week," Bode said.

Oh, the horror! A Penn sweatshirt?!

Help save our president from the agony of having to wear a flimsy Wharton t-shirt by exercising your right to vote next Tuesday.

Then again, all hope may already be lost, because we all know those business school kiddies are more than adept at “cooking the books” – George W. style.
