Dartmouth Elects Five Alumni to Board of Trustees

Dartmouth Elects Five Alumni to Board of Trustees

With classes still not in session at Dartmouth, news is scarce. There are no parties to attend, scandals to report on, or even students to harass with impromptu, paparazzi-style photo ops.

Nothing.

Thankfully, school officials sensed the increasing desperation of the media-starved community and decided to throw everyone a bone by electing five alumni to the Board of Trustees.

While it may not be the most exciting, earth-shattering news in the world, it does bare some discussion, as the five new members collectively sport an impressive list of accolades and achievements.

According to Dartmouth’s press release, they are:

Jeffrey R. Immelt '78, chairman and chief executive officer, GE;
Sherri C. Oberg '82, Tuck '86, founder, president and chief executive officer, Acusphere, Inc.;
John A. Rich '80, chair, Department of Health Management and Policy, and director, Center for Academic Public Health Practice, Drexel University;
Steven Roth '62, Tuck '63, chairman and chief executive officer, Vornado Realty Trust, and,
Diana L. Taylor '77, managing director, Wolfensohn & Company, L.L.C.

Of the five, students should be most excited about Sherri C. Oberg, because she was Dartmouth’s fraternity/sorority coordinator for some time.

Plus, as a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority herself, she understands the importance of Greek Life. And so, there is no better person to respresent the community.
