The Ivy League is known as the national elite union of brains and brawns. Made up of eight schools, the Ivy League has continually cranked out the nation’s best and brightest and this is just another example of how truly awesome we are.
The Ivy League has broken yet another Olympic/Ivy record and will be represented in four categories across the board this summer with the help of Columbia’s Courtney King-Dye for Women’s Equestrian, Brown’s Alicia Sacramone for Women’s Gymnastics, Princeton’s Sandra Fong for Women’s Shooting and of course – Dartmouth’s very own Jarrod Shoemaker for Men’s Triathlon.
Ivies In China is a website that follows the Ivy Olympians and their progress through the grueling competition. The website tells us that there are currently 42 Ivy athletes in the Olympics and 4 additional Ivies that might be joining them. The website also chronicles the outcome of Ivy Leaguers' progress in earlier Olympic games and might I add - we've kicked some major ass in past games.
So tune in on Friday to watch the Ivy league dominate another aspect of life. We already have the smarts, the socially elite status, all we need is another Olympic medal to add to our ever-growing collection.
