Movie trailers will never be the same. Don LaFontaine, the voice behind some of the most famous movie trailers, has passed away.
 

Although his name may not be familiar, you should be familiar with his work. The Voiceover King is best known for this simple phrase: “In a world where…” College students will know him as the voice of trailers such as The Terminator, Cast Away, Fatal Attraction and Batman returns. Most recently, LaFontaine parodied himself in a Geico commercial.
 

TMZ reports:

Don LaFontaine, the guy who was the voice of more than 5,000 trailers and nearly 350,000 commercials, died yesterday at 68. And irony of all ironies, the man with the so-called "Voice of God" died of lung disease -- complications from a collapsed lung.
