The last movie shot in the District, The Invasion, afforded us all a glimpse of the two-dimensional Nicole Kidman.  Too bad the movie isn't very good.  But we'll get another chance at glory, as the makers of State of Play, Brad Pitt's next movie, are apparently planning to do some shooting in D.C.  GW Hospital is being considered as a possible location, and filming should begin this fall.

State of Play is based on a BBC miniseries about investigative reporters solving a murder. 

Here's hoping there's a scene involving Pitt narrowly escaping the hordes of Greenpeace canvassers.  Now that's high drama.
