Cheap Travel: The Chinatown Bus

Cheap Travel: The Chinatown Bus
As you all know, GW is home to a large number of Northeastern kids, mainly from New York and, everyone's least favorite place on earth, New Jersey.

What you may not know is that there is a far more inexpensive way to get home from DC than the train. For all of you fearless young Northeasterners, there is the Chinatown bus.

For less than 1/5 the cost of one-way Amtrak ticket (7/48 of the cost round trip), you can be on your way home with stops in Philadelphia and New York. Of course you do take your life into your own hands when you set foot on a gigantic bus driven by a Chinese man who is roughly 120-years-old.

But beside the occasional rollover and subsequent bursting into flames, the Chinatown bus is a safe bet for cheap East Coast travel.
