First is the Worst, Second is the Best, 54th is GW

First is the Worst, Second is the Best, 54th is GW
What's four places between friends, anyway?

According to US News and World Report's America's Best Colleges 2008, GW is ranked 54th in the country--one spot below last year, and just four places from a "Top 50" title.  According to an article in the GW Hatchet, the last time GW cracked the top 50 was when it proudly claimed 46th in 1998.

GW also appeared on some of the other listings provided by the report, having one of the highest freshmen retention rates (92%) and providing the nation's largest average financial aid package at $33,809 (We're number one!).

In spite of these claims to fame, however, students still seem disappointed that GW fell below 50 again.

Don't worry, kids, winning isn't everything. 54 is still better than 55!  And President Knapp is gonna get right on fixing it... right?
