Places to Avoid, Continued
Our freshman survival series will just not go away! (Read Part One, Part Two.)

Last year, Heaven smiled upon GW.  After years of being forced to trek to the Dupont Circle Whole Foods to obtain edible groceries, Trader Joe's set up shop just a couple of blocks from campus.

But now the Watergate Safeway, the other grocery store in the vicinity, is fighting back in an attempt to win over student hearts and mind. They may accept GWorld now, but please God, do not enter that mouth of hell.  The fluorescent lights will blind you momentarily, perhaps inducing you to fill your cart with rotting vegetables and strangely glassy mayonnaise.  Every few weeks, you'll walk in to find that the meat section has been cleaned out entirely and that the smell of disinfectant lingers in the air.  This means they found a malevolent microbe.  This means you do not want to eat any food bought at Safeway.

Don't go.  Trader Joe's might not take GWorld, but that's a small price to pay for edible food.
