Greek Week Concerts 08

Greek Week Concerts 08
Hampden-Sydney Greek Week, something the people from surrounding colleges (Longwood, Sweet Briar, Hollins, Randolph College, and Randolph Macon), as well as the men of Sydney, is time each year that we all eagerly anticipate. No need to define greek week, everyone already knows what it is. At some colleges, greek week is not a big deal, but here it is solely the biggest week of the year. Each fraternity buys God only knows how much beer, and they get bands as well. This years greek week was a bit of a disappointment to some, but most had a good time. The best event of greek week '08 was undoubtedly Sigma Alpha Epsilon's Red Hot Chili Pepper's cover band, the Funky Monks, who SAE alums flew in from Chicago. At an off campus spot deemed "The Shed", SAE was not the only frat participating in the group festivities. Kegs are not allowed on campus, so Sigma Chi, Sigma Nu, Kappa Alpha, as well as SAE all had a few kegs a piece. Bringing your own beverages was the best idea though, the frats kept their beer mostly to themselves and the women. Who can blame them though? Keep in mind, a few kegs is a big deal for H-SC, we only have a little over a thousand students.

Actually Sigma Chi came up with the party and, with the help of other social chairmen, organized the band. Check those facts bro. This is tradition every year at The Shed Wednesday of Greek Week. It was a joint party between KA, SAE, Kappa Sig, Sigma Nu, Pika, Lambda Chi Alpha, and Sigma Chi as the host. I would know, I'm on the roof in the background. Posted 07/17/2008 8:35 PMReply
