A Time Out for "On Harvard Time"

A Time Out for "On Harvard Time"
Harvard – ever in the news – now has a “news” program of its own. Harvard-Radcliffe Television (HGTV) premiered “On Harvard Time” during Reading Period. Anchors  addressed top news stories like Mather's secession with… sock puppets.

Since IvyGate already panned “On Harvard Time,” I knew I ought to look at the show with a kinder eye.

“On Harvard Time” is good for a few laughs (props for asking UC President Ryan Petersen about his thing for tight pants), but awkward editing and more awkward puns slow down the show’s flow.

The bottom line? To the writers, correspondents, anchors and producers, I say: good effort. But you are trying waaaay too hard. Perhaps “On Harvard Time” will hit its stride in the fall. If not, HGTV shows continue to prove that if you’re not actually laughing with the show, you can sure as hell laugh at them.
