You've been there. You've seen them.

Staring you down as you pray for the light to turn green so you don't have to make eye contact or a contribution.

Well fret no more, my selfless colleagues. The Gainesville City Commission recently voted to outlaw panhandlers from occupying the corners of streets.

Oh, and you also won't have to face those whack jobs who sport those construction-worker-orange vests and shake a huge pail in your car window while mumbling something about kids or church or whatever.

The city claims it's an issue of safety, but I think we've all just been fed up with the constant nagging and guilt trips we deal with when driving. 

I should be able to drive to McDonald's and blow $6 on a combo meal without having to stare at a disheveled, visibly stinky person who ruins my appetite. Let me eat in peace!

Let me grab my $5 Starbucks latte and break in my Rainbow sandals while rushing to class without being stalked by the 'less fortunate.'

Besides, if you want money, go out and get a job like the rest of us.
Or to be more accurate, live off your parents' riches.
