Jerome Corsi, a Harvard alum, doesn’t think so highly of his fellow Harvard alum, Barack Obama. For evidence, you can check out his book The Obama Nation: Leftist Politics and the Cult of Personality. Too bad for Corsi, Kenya has Obama’s back.
The American neo-conservative author was in the African nation, birthplace of Obama’s father and home to his relatives, to promote the book and stir up some anti-Obama sentiment. However, before he could launch the smear campaign, Corsi was held for questioning by immigration authorities. The Times Online explains the situation:
Jerome Corsi, of Swift Boat Veterans for Truth fame, was this morning being held after failing to reckon with Obamamania.
He had been planning to launch his book, entitled The Obama Nation Leftist Politics and the Cult of Personality, before travelling to one of Nairobi’s slums to donate money to the Senator’s half-brother George, who was found living in squalid conditions two months ago.
If you fail to reckon with Obamamania in Kenya, you will feel the consequences. The population’s obsession with the presidential candidate exceeds even America’s droolfest over the guy… not that I’m implying his detention by the Kenyan government has anything to do with them valiantly protecting the honor of their beloved sort of almost countryman.
No, immigration officials say, Corsi was detained for questioning about a simple work permit issue. However, another source says Corsi is being questioned because of references to Raila Odinga, the Kenyan prime minister, and allegations that Obama’s Muslim supporters incited violence after the Kenyan election.
Whatever the real reason, Corsi’s best bet would be to back peddle and pledge his allegiance to Obamamania. He can get back to the anti-Obama campaign when he returns to America, a country that appreciates factual errors and character smears.
