With the presidential campaign finally winding down, more and more people are coming out in support of their chosen candidate. However, in this day and age, there’s only one way to affect the course of an election: donating truckloads of money.
Alumni from Barack Obama’s Law School alma mater, Harvard, understand this simple political principle, and that’s why they’ve donated well over $500,000 to Obama over the past two years, making them the Democrat’s third largest contributors.
In other words, they couldn’t swing any more left, even if they tried.
The Boston Herald reports:
“The Obama campaign has completely shattered all previous fund-raising efforts without a dime from PACs or Washington lobbyists by building an unprecedented base of more than 2.5 million Americans who are hungry for change and know we can’t afford four more years of the same Bush policies,” said Gannet Tseggai, a spokeswoman for the Obama campaign.
[…] Harvard law professor Robert Mnookin, chairman of the university’s Program on Negotiation, has given Obama $4,600. “I would be supporting him with the same enthusiasm had he gone to that other place - Yale,” Mnookin said.
“That other place”? Is this a not-so-subtle jab at John McCain for referring to Obama as “that one” during the second debate?
If so: Harvard 1, Yale 0.
