Over the last month, Harvard University – also known as the #1 school in the country – polled 1,031 young, college-aged voters to determine whether they supported Barack Obama or John McCain. Unsurprisingly, the results showed that a majority (55%) favored the young Democrat over the Republican fossil.

Shock and awe – I know, but the largely superfluous poll did reveal one surprising thing about the mindset of America’s youth.

According to Metro:

[Slightly] more voters reported they trusted McCain (31 percent) more to be commander-in-chief of the military over Obama (28 percent), while nearly the same percentage said they trusted one over the other to protest the country from terrorism.

In other words, students believe McCain can protect the country better than Obama, because of the senior citizen's extensive war record.

Guess those three-thousand years of military service were good for something, huh? But, who thought it would matter this much to America's war-hating youth?
