In Case You Missed It: Ari, Stewart and Colbert Take Home Emmys

The 60th Annual Emmys were last night. You know, the "TV Oscars"? For those (all) of you that missed it, here's a quick breakdown of the major happenings:

  • Fictional Michigan grad Ari Gold (sometimes known as Jeremy Piven) won Best Supporting Actor for Entourage for the 3rd year in a row. We all know he's awesome, but it'd be great to see Dwight Schrute take it home at least once.
  • John Adams won an insane amount of award, breaking the all time Emmy record with eight.
  • Mad Men won best drama series, as if there was any question. And dear lord, did you see Christina Hendricks?
  • The Colbert Report landed it's first Emmy for best writing, while The Daily Show won best late-night overall.
  • 30 Rock trounced it's comedic competition with NYU grad Alec Baldwin upsetting Tony "Monk" Shaloub who normally wins best lead actor every year. UVA alum Tina Fey picked up best lead actress in a comedy and 30 Rock won best comedy overall. Now if people would only start watching it...
  • Hayden Panietierre looked extremely hot, as you can see.

And that's the Emmys in thirty seconds, which is really as long as it needs to be. Check out the full list of winners if you absolutely must know who won best supporting actress for a miniseries or movie.
