Charlie Weis Loves Players Like Sons

Charlie Weis Loves Players Like Sons

Charlie Weis announced today that Will Yeatman will not suit up until his "matter is resolved", referring to his arrest last weekend, and therefore, will not play against Purdue on Saturday.

However, Charlie Weis showed off his kinder, gentler side stating:

"I think I try to treat these kids similar to if I were talking to Charlie [Weis, Jr.].  As you go through growing pains, you know, you just try to educate and teach and let them know that you weren't perfect when you were going through the growing experience yourself."

There you have it, Charlie Weis isn't the tough guy he portrays on the field, making 300 pound student athletes wimper like school-girls.  When it hits the fan, Charlie will back your ass up.  For the first time since making the Sugar Bowl, when I read this comment, I was proud to have Weis for a coach.  It still remains to be seen whether or not he can actually develop talent on our football team, but it's nice knowing Charlie will have your back in a fight.
