IU Swimming in an Ocean of Donations in 2008

Indiana is celebrating a record year of donations in which they raked in over $400M in donations, surpassing the previous record by more than $100M. University officials are ecstatic, understandably.

"This high level of support reflects the faith of our donors in Indiana University's ability to contribute to the educational and economic future of the state," President Michael A. McRobbie said in a statement.

The gifts were distributed among the IU Foundation, the Riley Children’s Foundation, and governmental contracts and research grants. Sadly, the student’s won’t see a penny themselves, but they assuredly will take comfort in the fact that their school will invest the money in their best interest. Yeah, right.
