I understand that the 2008 election is exciting and people want to support their candidates, but it is possible to go too far. I'm referring to UNC-Chapel Hill's Young Democrats.
I stumbled across one of their fliers in Lenoir and was immediately drawn in by the poor attempt at satire. "Bush <3's McCain-Palin?" Really? I think we're a bit old for that kind of attack. How about highlighting Obama's strengths instead of sinking to citing McCain's weaknesses.
Normally, I would be able to look past a poorly written flier. The reason that the Young Democrat's have reached the level of "officially obnoxious" is because today's campaigning strategy involved walking around the Union yelling "Woo! Bush loves McCain!" and dropping fliers on people's laps and the books that they were studying from.
Unnecessary.
Props to the boy sitting across from me who picked up a flyer dropped onto his computer, stopped the girl who had put it there, and made her take it back.
