artWorks Gallery Lacks Real Art
Five-year-olds can color and cut things out. They learn these things in kindergarten.

So what do art majors at JMU do? By what can be seen at the artWorks Gallery, pretty much the same thing.

artWorks is the JMU student gallery on Grace Street which just had its first opening for the year. The work was less than impressive. The show was dominated by cartoony drawings, except for one student who cut out the phrase “No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems” out of printer paper.

JMU may not be an art school, but one would hope our art majors can do more than just color inside the lines.
