Blue Hole: Slightly Cooler Than You Think It Is

Blue Hole: Slightly Cooler Than You Think It Is
Continuing Rockingham County’s tradition of naming natural wonders after what they actually resemble (Natural Chimneys, Reddish Knob, etc.), Blue Hole is truly a glorious um, hole of, well, almost-blue water.

I recommend it as an out-of-the-way (take 33 West for about forever into the George Washington National Forest to get there) place to cool down and experience the furreal countray. Plus, you may get to see some actual, live rednecks in their natural habitat, complete with a bucket of beers and a golden retriever that nobody claims to own.

It gets chilly up there in the mountains/forest, even on smokin' hot days in the 'Burg; so get there soon before the leaves start changing!
