Facebook Wants JMU To Vote

It’s here! It’s here! It’s finally here! No, not Kathy Griffin’s birthday (although today is that, too). It’s ELECTION DAY!

After spending half of Bush’s second term narrowing down the candidates then fighting with friends and coworkers (and strangers) over every aspect of the election from Obama being thought of by some as the antichrist to a socialist, it will all finally end today. Or is it just beginning?

By the end of the night (hopefully) America and the rest of the world will know who the next President of the United States is. We can only hope it’s not a repeat of 2000 because I don’t think anyone can wait any longer to see a winner at this point. Although media and most Americans think it’s going to be an Obama landslide, I think they underestimate the silent McCain-supporters and those that aren’t voting but fail to say so because they don’t want to be publicly humiliated and given a speech on how people “died for YOUR right to vote!”

JMU students can’t say they didn’t get a chance to vote because SGA and other organizations are running buses from practically every apartment complex and campus location from 8-7 all day. However, good luck waiting in those long lines!

Thank god I live out-of-state and got my absentee ballot because voting today is an all day affair. Before the polls even opened today, the lines were weaving around one of the local elementary schools.

No one can say they forgot to vote because even Facebook changed their layout today to remind that 18-24 block to vote today. And we all know, if Facebook says we should do it, then it must be right!
