Former Coach Dies, Meets Stanford Football Program in Afterlife
Hall of Famer football coach Bill Walsh died on Monday morning. Although he is most famous for his ten-year stint coaching the San Francisco 49ers, Walsh also spent three seasons as head coach of Stanford's football program.

This loss is especially poignant because he represented one of the last few living links to a time in our football history when we won more than one game a season. In fact, he was the last Stanford coach since Tyrone Willingham ('95-'01) to win more games than he lost -- way back in 1978.
