The incoming class of 2011 hasn’t lived through much. Born mostly in 1990, these kids missed out on a world of 60's, 70's and most importantly - 80's-inspired fun. As they step foot onto college campuses, the upperclassmen need to come to terms with a few things before openly criticizing these post-grunge babies.
Beloit College has thoughtfully come up with a solution to the mass chaos by creating a mindset list for the class of 2011, here a few examples from the list:
- What Berlin Wall?
- They never “rolled down” a car window.
- Half of them may have been members of the Baby-sitters Club.
- Women’s studies majors have always been offered on campus.
- They learned about JFK from Oliver Stone and Malcolm X from Spike Lee.
- MTV has never featured music videos.
- They grew up in Wayne's World.
- They get much more information from Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert than the newspaper.
To check out the rest of the Beloit College Mindset List and pray you don’t fall victim to any of these mindsets as a product of the late 80’s, visit their website.
