An Interactive Timeline of Every Internet Meme Known to Man

From the legendary LOLcats to the more recently popular “Jizz in my Pants,” the Internet is constantly inundated with newer, funnier memes that seemingly take a hold of our lives for a week before fading off into obscurity.

The life expectancy of an Internet meme, a recurring joke or motif, is extremely short, which can be problematic when you refer back to one from a previous year and no one knows what you’re talking about at all. For me, this happens far too often with the Rick Roll, which was a meme that inserted Rick Astley’s catchy 90s hit “Never Gonna Give You Up” into seemingly random videos.

Thankfully, with this timeline of every Internet meme known to man, you and your friends will no never forget a meme again, because if you do, all you have to do now is find it on the timeline and click on it for a brief explanation and example.

I encourage everyone to take the timeline for a spin. There’s a metric ton of laughs to be had from start to finish, but if you’re looking for some suggestions, I would start with Ninja Cat and then head back to last year when Dramatic Chipmunk first hit the scene.

Oh, and be sure to check out Pedobear; he’s Brother Bannon’s favorite.
