NY Gov is About to Tax the Hell Out of Everything You Like

David Paterson may be completely un-qualified to be governor, but that hasn’t stopped him from thinking up bold* policy initiatives.

*moronic

The latest bold* proposal is a series of 88 new higher taxes and fees including, but not limited to:

- Digital music
- Taxi rides
- Gas
- Cable TV
- Cigars
- Beer
- Movie and sports tickets
- Health spa visits
- Soda

So that’s literally….everything I do then? Thanks Governor, I’ll just spend my free time now sitting alone in my room blogging about how much I hate you, since I can’t afford to go out and do anything. Or listen to music. Or watch TV. Or drink soda.

As someone who recently moved here, I do have to say, that if there was anything I didn’t like about the city it’s that everything was just too cheap. I mean like I almost felt bad about how little I was paying for things. $5 for a half gallon of milk? Why not make it $8? $20 for a ten minute cab ride? Make it $35! But make sure the government gets the money, not the driver or the grocer. Then it’s OK.
