You hear that? That's the sound of the male student body's balls inching up just a little bit closer to their body after a few flakes were spotted this morning. As a hater of winter, I'm not too pleased with the reality that snow is on it's way. I believe winter should be allowed only for those cheesy Christmas morning landscapes and then it needs to go away. But I can't be too cranky. Last week temperatures were in the 50's, even 60's at the beginning of the week and I'd like to give a shout out to my boy, Global Warming for that surprise treat.
So while it was only a few flakes this morning, let this post serve as a warning that snow is on the horizon. Be prepared for boring weekends indoors, drinking beers underneath blankets (because who wants to pay for heating?), feeling utterly worthless (who wants to do anything worthwhile when the sun is hardly out and goes away by 6pm?), and counting the days until spring.
My advice, make an advent calendar, counting the days until St. Patrick's Day (or in our case, Green Beer Day), with a different drinking activity for the day. This will both warm the body (beer blanket, anyone?) for frugal bastards that don't want to pay for heat, such as myself, and make the boring, soon to be snow filled days go by faster.
